ABSTRACT

The aim of the research is to describe and to analyze the metropolitan urban space transformations of Santiago de Chile, occured among the 75' and 85' years. Specifically, is important the recognition of the militar dictatorship neoliberal policies effects on urban development. A coherent proposal is an historic rapprochement of the radical changes process motivated by the so-called "Chicago Boys", in the economic politics and its impact in the dismantling of the urban planning policies, land use planning, housing, transport and others that characterized seventie's urbanism. Proyect's main aim is to search for the origin of the new urban spacial configuration that we still live on, dealing with the relation between space production and neoliberal revolution in depth.

The offered approach is placed from an urbanism discursive modernity critical perspective, with the recognition of its fractality and multi-subject restrictions. The research results are expected to become teaching inputs and conceptual reference for further researches as well.
