RESUMEN

La presencia del río Mapocho en la ciudad de Santiago ha operado históricamente como un espacio social fronterizo. Diferentes artefactos testimoniales referidos a la división geográfico–cultural generada por su traza, ponen de relieve la conjunción de diversas alteridades identitarias en el imaginario social. El análisis realizado en este respecto, busca desarrollar un juego interpretativo a partir de la visión de la antropología histórica. Se pretende así lograr un cruce entre fuentes históricas, aprehensiones etnográficas y enunciados teóricos.

 

ABSTRACT

The presence of Mapocho river in Santiago city has work historically worked us as a social border space. Different testimonial artefacts related with the geographical and cultural division generated by his trace, set up the conjunction of several “alterities” of identity within the social imaginery. Starting from an historical anthropology overview, the performed analysis pursuit to develop an interpretative play, crossing historical sources, ethnographical seizures and theoretical assertions.
