Resumen
El caso de estudio es el simbolismo arquitectónico que se configura y reconfigura sucesivamente, en el Barrio Cívico de Santiago de Chile, en tres momentos históricos. El marco conceptual, se basa en la concepción de Harry Pross sobre la estructura simbólica del poder y el ejercicio de la violencia simbólica. Mediante un proceder hermenéutico, se desarrolla un análisis sintáctico de las imágenes arquitectónicas y urbanísticas constituidas, buscando develar la construcción de los dispositivos de significación. Se incluye, como antología, dos textos sobre el desarrollo histórico del Barrio Cívico. 

Abstract
The study is about the architectural symbolism successively configured and reconfigured, in the Civic district of Santiago de Chile, in three historical moments. The conceptual term, is based on Harry Pross conception of the symbolic structure of the power and the exercise of the symbolic violence. Through a hermeneutic proceed, is developed a syntactic analysis of urban and architectural images constituted, looking for unveil the construction of the significance devices. It is included, as anthology, two texts on the historical development of the Civic district.
