RESUMEN

Se presenta, en base a una selección de artículos de prensa, una visión del desarrollo del sector urbano de Santiago denominado Sanhattan. Constituye una de las principales nuevas “centralidades” generadas por la localización de las principales entidades financieras y de gestión de las grandes empresas comerciales y de servicios que comandan la economía del país. Las transformaciones arquitectónicas y urbanísticas del nuevo paisaje urbano que aquí se despliega, expresan los reordenamientos jerárquicos del simbolismo urbano generados por el accionar de la economía neoliberal globalizada. El texto da cuenta de los problemas de desarrollo urbano resultantes generados por las externalidades negativas que se infligen mutuamente los agentes de emprendimiento inmobiliario que han ingresado al sector.

ABSTRACT

It is show up, based on a selection of press articles, a vision of the development of Santiago's urban sector denominated Sanhattan. One of the main new "centralities" constitutes generated by the localization of the main financial entities and of management of the big commercial and services companies that command the economy of the country. The urban and architectural transformations of the new urban landscape that are spreads here, express the hierarchical rearrangements of urban symbolism generated by working of globalized neoliberal economy. The text gives an idea of urban development resultants problems generated by the negative externalities that mutually inflict themselves the agents of real estate project that have entered to the sector.
