RESUMEN

El autor se interroga respecto al estado de la historiografía de la arquitectura nacional. Presenta una revisión bibliográfica acotada a obras habitacionales realizadas en el marco del dominio público, propias de nuestra modernidad arquitectónica. La exploración bibliográfica se circunscribe a aquellas obras que constituyeron la expansión urbana metropolitana de Santiago durante el avance del proyecto nacionalista industrialista de desarrollo modernizador.  Para esta tarea, el autor se sitúa en el marco conceptual propuesto por Marina Waisman en su invitación para constituir una historiografía de la arquitectura que se haga cargo de la peculiaridad latinoamericana. Como cautela crítica frente a los sesgos de la historiagrafía eurocéntrica, su propuesta preconiza una historia construida a partir del reconocimiento de las obras

El autor asume que en el marco de este reconocimiento historiográfico, el juicio y la experiencia de vida del habitante constituyen un correlato significativo a establecer y confrontar con las hipótesis originarias del proyecto y con las circunstancias de la vida de la obra. Esto resulta particularmente significativo en el caso de obras habitacionales, en que la “habitabilidad” constituye un concepto central en el marco del requerimiento social de la obra arquitectónica. La selección de bibliográfica, por tanto, apunta a la búsqueda de aquella historia que se hace cargo de esta premisa.

Finalmente, la operación de búsqueda bibliográfica se centra en tres obras consideradas como casos de estudio, para las cuales se despliega un conjunto de fuentes bibliográficas de carácter específico y general que se corresponden con las reflexiones conceptuales descritas por el autor.

ABSTRACT

The author is interrogated regarding the state of the historiography of the national architecture. Presents an enclosed bibliographical revision to residence works carried out in the framework of the public domain, characteristic of our architectural modernity. The bibliographical exploration is limited to those works constituted Santiago's urban metropolitan expansion during the advance of the nationalist industrialist project of modernization development.  For this task, the author is located in the conceptual framework proposed by Marina Waisman in her invitation to constitute a historiography of the architecture to assume Latin American peculiarity. As critic caution in front of signs of Eurocentric historiography, her proposal praises a history construct from the recognition of the works.

In the framework of this historiography recognition the author assumes, the trial and the experience of the inhabitant's life constitute a significant correlate to settle down and to confront with the origin hypotheses of the project and with the circumstances of the work life. This is particularly significant in the case of residence works in which the "habitability" constitutes a central concept in the framework of social requirement of the architectural work. The bibliographical selection, therefore, points to the search of that history that aware this premise.

Finally, the operation of bibliographical search is centered in three works considered as cases of study, for which spreads a group of bibliographical sources of specific and general character which belong together with the conceptual reflections described by the author.
