RESUMEN

Por diversos motivos, los centros cívicos comunales han sido en Chile un campo de estudio prácticamente inexplorado. En este documento se pretende indagar en las características principales de estos espacios, estudiando las cinco comunas que circundan a Santiago Centro: Macul, Ñuñoa, Providencia, Quinta Normal y San Miguel. La perspectiva y metodología utilizada es la de la historia, abordando aproximadamente treinta años (1960-1990) y centrando la mirada en el rol del municipio, la comunidad local y el poder ejecutivo para el desarrollo de este tipo de espacio público.

 

ABSTRACT

Due to several reasons, the local civic centres have been practically an unexplored field of study in Chile . The aims of this document is the research of the principal aspects of this places studying the five surrounding counties of Santiago city: Macul, Ñuñoa, Providencia, Quinta Normal and San Miguel. The history is taken as the perspective and methodology used, tackling thirty years aprox (1960-1990) and focusing on the city council role, the local community and the executive power for the development of this kind of public space.
