RESUMEN

En este artículo se propone un análisis de dos genealogías del Santiago decimonónico. Primero, las relaciones que se establecen entre el poder político, el discurso de la caridad y la población marginal a partir del confinamiento social por medio de los “asilos”. Y segundo, la reconfiguración del confinamiento social tradicional a través de la inserción del capitalismo en los intercambios sociales urbanos y su consiguiente concreción en diferentes modelos de encierro. Por medio de estas genealogías se produce una lectura del discurso decimonónico de la pobreza, que pone énfasis en los órdenes que se gestan durante un ciclo urbano

ABSTRACT

This article intends an analysis of two genealogies of Santiago XIX C.First, the relationships settle down among the political power, the speech of the charity and the marginal population starting from the social confinement in "asylums". And second, the reconfiguration of the traditional social confinement through the insert of capitalism in the social urban exchanges and their rising concretion in different confinement models. By means of these genealogies a reading of the speech of the poverty of the XIX century takes place and put emphasis in orders gestated during an urban cycle.
