RESUMEN

La creación de áreas verdes en la ciudad, entraña una problemática de toma decisiones no exenta de opciones encontradas. Al asignar un valor al suelo, en el contexto de la economía de mercado, emergen consideraciones que pueden gravitar en desmedro de los beneficios ambientales que estas áreas proporcionan.  Por otro lado, se presentan aspectos relacionados a la funcionalidad y calidad de dichos espacios, los cuales, de acuerdo al autor, deben ser incorporados en los mecanismos de evaluación para la creación de áreas verdes urbanas.

ABSTRACT

The creation of green areas in the city, involves a taking decisions problem not exempt of opposing options. When assigning a value to the floor, in the context of market economy, considerations emerge that can gravitate in deteriorate of the environmental benefits that these areas provide.  On the other hand, are show up aspects related to the functionality and quality of these spaces, those which, according to the author, should be incorporated in the evaluation mechanisms for the creation of urban green areas.
