RESUMEN

El presente texto tiene por objeto centrar la atención en la importancia del patrimonio industrial en la regeneración urbana como elemento reactivador de las ciudades intermedias en Chile. Mediante la aplicación de nuevos usos a los bienes industriales es posible reactivar el tejido urbano en el que se insertan, asegurando la recuperación de su memoria histórica, aun cuando la arquitectura ya no es posible.

Se profundizará en su posible reutilización, su sensibilización social, como herramienta fundamental de preservación, y su reaprovechamiento, sin por ello dejar de lado su función estética, logrando de esta manera recuperar el paisaje en el que se insertan. Así, se consigue realizar una lectura comprensible de las relaciones que se generan entre los diversos elementos industriales, que reconvierten los recorridos y puntos de contemplación de estos paisajes y que dotan de nuevos usos y funciones apropiadas y congruentes con su contexto físico y social en la actualidad. Se consideran, con el fin de enriquecer el tejido urbano, fórmulas complejas de uso combinando el uso cultural, el educativo, el patrimonial y el urbano para restablecer un equilibrio conjunto en nuestras ciudades.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to focus attention on the importance of industrial heritage in urban regeneration as a reactivating element of intermediate cities in Chile. By means of applying of new uses for industrial goods is possible to reactivate the urban fabric in which they are inserted, ensuring the recovery of its historical memory, even if the architecture is no longer possible.

It will deepen their possible re-use, social awareness as a fundamental tool for preservation, and reutilization, without neglecting the aesthetic function, thus achieving recover the landscape in which they are inserted.  So, you get to perform a comprehensive reading of the relations generated between the various industrial elements, which reconverted the routes and points of gaze of these landscapes and that they give new uses and appropriated and consistent functions with their physical and social context nowadays. It will be considered, in order to improve the urban fabric, complex formulas of combined uses as cultural, educational, patrimonial and urban to restore an overall balance in our cities.
